Config,Start and create database.

MySQL Encoding

Nepenthes uses UTF-8 encoding,so MySQL should be setted to UTF-8 encoding. Open MySQL configuration file from /usr/local/mysql/my.cnf before modify,you should back it up for emergency issue to restore. Add the following codes to my.cnf
[client]
default-character-set=utf8

[mysqld]
default-storage-engine=INNODB
character-set-server=utf8
collation-server=utf8_general_ci

MySQL Status

Open Terminal and enter the following command to check MySQL status.
cd /usr/local/mysql/support-files
sudo ./mysql.server status

Start MySQL

If MySQL is not running,enter the following command to start it.
sudo ./mysql.server start

Restart MySQL

If MySQL is running,enter the following command to restart it.
sudo ./mysql.server restart

Login MySQL

Using MySQL shipped terminal client to login,the default password for user root is none.
cd /usr/local/mysql/bin
./mysql -u root -p
If you see the following information,it means you have login MySQL successfully.
Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 3

Create Database

Create database with the following command.
create database NepenthesDemo;
If you see the following information,that means you create the database successfully.
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec)
Next:Tomcat
